Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) has been notified by United Airlines that the planned launch of new air service in Kalamazoo will be postponed to October 25, 2026. The adjusted timeline is the result of a recent Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) order issued on April 20, which temporarily limits flight operations at O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to 2025 levels through October 24.
This order impacts multiple airlines and markets across the country and is not specific to Kalamazoo. Despite the delay, United Airlines remains committed to launching service in Kalamazoo and continues to prepare for operations. Equipment and infrastructure, including signage and computer systems, will remain in place ahead of the new start date.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets for the previously scheduled service will have the option to rebook another United flight or receive a full refund.
Additional details, including flight frequency, will be announced as they become available.
